Dilip Thadeshwar plays Subramanium. Also works in the same Advertising agency as Rajeev. Subbu as he is better known is a traditionalist. He is conservative to the core. He hates everything that is progressive especially in the lifestyle department?. But it seems his outlook is in for a big jolt.

Raymond Irani plays Shahji. He is a gym instructor. He is more brawn than brain. He likes to have a good time but for him it takes a while for the penny to drop. It seems he is going to meet his match in the libido department.

Synopsis:
Zaid [Muzamil Ibrahim] is a Muslim police officer in
Mumbai. On the night of a deadly bombing at the New Century Club, he
works tirelessly to help the shocked and shattered patients brought to
the hospital. But this night of turmoil and death takes a horrifying
personal turn. His wife's body, the beautiful Sara [Tulip Joshi], is
found amongst the dead. Things turn even more horrific when the police
coldly announce that Sara's injuries were typical of those found on
fundamentalist suicide bombers.

New Delhi, Aug 1 (IANS) Noted film critic Anupama Chopra's latest book on Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan has made headlines for its details on how mobster Abu Salem allegedly made threatening calls to the superstar, but the author says the chapter was "taken out of context" and there is more information of greater significance in the book.

"My book is called 'King of Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan and the Seductive World of Indian Cinema', not 'Shah Rukh Khan and the underworld', " Chopra told IANS.

"It's a 300-page book about the evolution of a superstar, a country and a film industry. In this, perhaps five or six pages are about Shah Rukh and the mafia. I think that was taken out of context and made into headlines. I don't want to add to that. Let people read the book first," she added.

Chopra's earlier book, "Sholay: The Making of a Classic", had won a National Award for being the best book on cinema. She followed it with "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge: The Brave-Hearted Will Take the Bride".

Though there are quite a few recent books on Shah Rukh Khan, Chopra is unperturbed. She says her book has some unheard and unread information about the star.

"My book is a look at popular Hindi cinema through the life and films of Shah Rukh. So it's very different from the other SRK books. I believe there are connections and details here that haven't appeared before."

How much time did she take to write the book?

"It's taken four years from the time I first spoke to Shah Rukh about writing a book to August 2007 when it will finally be released."

The author describes Shah Rukh as an "emblematic icon" and says one cannot grade him.

Asked what she thought about the reported rivalry between Shah Rukh and Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, she said: "I have no idea if there is or isn't any truth in this rivalry."

Known for his generosity, Shah Rukh, who has given hits like "Baazigar", "Darr", "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge", "Dil To Pagal Hai", "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" and "Don", gave his full support to Chopra for the book.

"He has been very generous with his time and extremely supportive of the project. I have hounded him across the globe for three-and-a- half-years but he has never been impatient. Moreover, he read the manuscript but never asked me to change a single comma. I don't think I could have asked for more."

Anupama's husband Vidhu Vinod Chopra and sister Tanuja Chandra are well-known Bollywood filmmakers. Her mother Kamna Chandra is a scriptwriter and her brother Vikram Chandra is an award-winning novelist whose work includes "Red Earth and Pouring Rain" and "Love and Longing in Bombay". He has also written Hindi film scripts. However, Anupama says she has no plan to make a film.

Curb your tendency to run the gamut of the pun. Cash is no trash. It's as nonsensically nifty as any of those cool capers from Hollywood like Ocean's Dus, gyarah, barah?.whatever!

Dus director Anubhav Sinha goes bust?.women of every shape and sighs show up on screen to giggle and heave. And take on the boys in the game of acquisition. In one item song which goes Rahem kare, Choreographer Rajiv Goswami makes the Brazillian bombshell point her palm to an unmentionable part of her anatomy.

And still, Cash steers as far away from any hint of vulgarity as conceivable. The hot babes with their catch-me-if-can attitude match steps in the strip-and-groove game with the cool dudes in their never-ending collection of designer glasses.

Is Cash co-sponsored by Ray-ban? If it is, then this is as close as director Sinha comes to Satyajit Ray in this urbane caper that goes from hot chick to ubane chic at the flick of trendy wrist.

Or wait ?.is Cash a free-flowing endorsement for sun-tan lotion? As the cast gets sensuously and seductively soaked in the Cape Town sun you look for the South Africa that director Feroz Abbas Khan visits in the other release this Friday on the life of Gandhi and his son.

There are no fathers and sons in Cash. But Suniel Shetty (looking extra-dapper and supremely suave in his svelte suits and,yes, cool sunglasses) has an adopted uncle with whom he does dirty deals and finally shoots pointblank.

The point, if you must know is?there's no point to this heera-heist. Anubhav Sinha gate-crashes into a zone of singy amorality where boys try to be men and men try to get extra-pally with the women.

James Bond meets Brij Sadanah in this coolly contemporized version of Sadanah's Chori Mera Kaam.

Diamonds may be forever. Cash makes them dazzle and sparkle for two hours of sinful designer-entertainment. Stylishly mounted and edited to the point of conveying a cutting edge of glistening gaiety to even a casual conversation on the road, Cash provides a crash-course in how to make a celluloid diamond-heist not go to waste.

Waist is where the plot gets its wriggle. Shamita Shetty is specially spunky and spicy as she woos the rather oddly made-up Ajay Devgan. Yup, she's the one to watch.

Devgan plays a delectably subverted Superman-styled double-life character. For Shamita he's a mellow peace-loving writer. For Diya Mirza (who also has the hots for Suniel Shetty?.these gold-digging diamond dames?I tell you!) Devgan is a Santa-Banta reciting entertainer-cum-heist-merchant.

After a while it becomes hard to tell who's doing what to whom,and why. Screenwriters Yash-Vinay go back to all the capers from Victoria 203 to Dhoom?and come up with a crime-pays saga that keeps the adrenaline flowing and the cars, motorboats and choppers moving.

The dialogues and situations are genuinely funny?specially the exchanges between Devgan and Shetty, and between Zayed Khan and Riteish Deshmukh who play a couple of heist-hawkers who often end up trying to commit the same crime at the same place

Zayed and Riteish infuse their ha-ha-ha heroism with a pop-panache. You can't touch these wannabes, really! Not with the aerial and water stunts swarming the dapper frames in motions of curled-up cosmpolitanism.

Ironically the most entertaining performance comes from Howard Roseneyer as a nose-in-the-air yatch manager pressurized by the cops to blow Ajay Devgan's lid.

There is a genre of cinema that tilts its stylish topi to the art of jalebi storytelling. Wheels wind their way into wheels, and then some more wheels in this pulse-pounding ode to the spirit of audacious derring-do.

Don't look for a linear cogent narrative design, as Anubhav Sinha merges crimes and cops, audacious animation and heart-in-the-mouth stunts in a mix that keeps you watching?.numb-stop.

Rs 50 crore riding on Sanjay Dutt

For more then ten years, Sanjay Dutt made the rounds of the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act court in Mumbai, in connection with the 1993 blasts case.

That journey ended on Tuesday with his being sentenced to six years in prison for an offence under the Arms Act.

Since he will go to prison immediately, the star's pending films, Dhamaal, Mr Fraud, Kidnap and Alibaug will be affected.

The third instalment of the Munnabhai series, Munnabhai Chale Amreika, which was postponed until next year, may now never be made.

"Around Rs 50 crores (Rs 500 million) is at stake," says Komal Nahta, editor of the trade weekly, Film Information.

"Sanjay was among the top heroes in 1993. Unfortunately, after his arrest then, no big producer wanted to cast him. They thought he would be in and out of jail, and their projects would suffer," a Bollywood trade analyst said on Monday, speaking on condition that he would not be identified for this report.

TADA court Judge Kode acquitted Dutt of charges under TADA, but held him guilty of illegal possession of weapons.

It has been a long and tiring journey for the 48-year-old actor since his name surfaced during the investigation of the March 12, 1993 serial blasts that killed 257 people and injured hundreds of others.

During the interrogation of film producers Samir Hingora and Hanif Kadawala, they claimed that Dutt had sought help from the underworld to acquire weapons to protect his family during the horrific Mumbai riots.

His father Sunil Dutt, a Congress MP, was often threatened with dire consequences for helping the victims of the riots.

Sanjay Dutt was on location in Mauritius when the news broke and was arrested on his return to India. The actor spent 16 months in jail -- many of those months in the infamous 'Anda cell' in solitary confinement with just a sparrow on his cell window for company. The Supreme Court granted him bail in October 1995.

The Gandhi National Memorial Trust has made a humble attempt to perpetuate Gandhi's memory by presenting the first complete biographical documentary film of his life which, in a large measure, reflects the history of India's struggle for freedom. Animation, live photography and old prints, have been blended to give an integrated image of his life. Some of the material is bound to be technically imperfect but it is an authentic portrayal of history. The story too is narrated in all simplicity and dignity using mostly Gandhi's own words.

Evell-length documentary film is but an inadequate instrument for depicting Gandhi's many-splendoured life and his varied activities. Consistent with the aim of presenting a full picture, the length here was inevitable; shorter films depicting different aspects of his life will also be presented. Many minds and many hands have laboured in making the film which took years to complete. The Trust is grateful to all who have helped this venture but most to its Honorary Director, Vithalbhai Jhaveri. This film is the result of his selfless dedication to the work and the full co-operation of the Films Division of the Government of India.

DAHEK 2007 MOVIE

ikram Luthra [Sharad Kapoor] is an explosive that has detonated many times, and has no way of stopping. He’s careening like a bullet towards every criminal he perceives. An inspector in the police force, he sees himself as an exterminator of criminals.

A series of mysterious and seemingly senseless murders begin happening in the city. Millions of rupees are defrauded from bank accounts to untraceable destinations. Vikram Luthra seeks the computer expert Jai’s help in the tracking of accounts….and the murderers.

But Jai has another agenda! What he doesn’t know is that even Vikram has an agenda. Something which was much more dangerous that what he could have ever imagined…or believed!

Now let us introduce other characters in this intriguing drama and mystery:

Ajay Mathur [Rajit Kapoor] - An honest businessman. A builder and a very loving father. But fate has something else in store for him. Gets betrayed by his own wife and his best friend. Finally he commits suicide.

Monalisa [Mahima Mehta] - A very conventional girl coming from a traditional family. It is her simplicity that attracts Jai. But there is something that stops them from coming closer.

Soniya [Aarti Makhijani] - An extrovert and vibrant girl. She doesn’t mind flirting with Jai. Always cheerful and forever smiling.

Sunil [Milind Gunaji] - A man who lives alone with a niece and a past which has a mystery that tears a family apart.

Rita Mathur [Usha Bachani] - A rich wife and a doting mother. Could not find love in her husband but a man who has something else planned for her. But by the time she realizes this, it is too late.

Synopsis :
Apne is the story of a family their relationship and their dreams. A father and his sons each have their own desires... aspirations... and hopes... Baldev Singh Choudhary (Dharmendra) won a silver medal in the Olympics and made India proud. His only dream was to make history by becoming India's first World Heavy-weight Champion... But sometime dreams shatter before they can be realized and make the heart bleed forever. Same fate awaited Baldev. When in the US fighting for he World Heavy-weight Championship, the betting mafia conspired against him and got doping charges leveled against him, which got him banned from boxing. For an athelete nothing can be worse than doping charges. He wanted to get rid of this stigma and plan by training his elder son Angad (Sunny Deol) in the sport of boxing and make him a world Heavy-weight champion and create history which eluded him, but... Angad had some other dreams... some other aspirations... some other commitments. Karan (Bobby Deol), the younger son, a musician at par, inspite of wanting to fulfill his fathers dreams was helpless. What was this helplessness? Inspite of loving and living for each other why were these two sons not able to work along with each other to achieve their fathers dream? Will they ever succeed? Will Baldev's dream ever be achieved or will it die along with him? As he has decided to end his life today.

Basic Information: Aap Ka Suroor - The Real Love Story is 2007 film starring Himesh Reshammiya and supposedly based on the real life love story of the singer himself. The film's title is borrowed from the hit album of Himesh Reshammiya Aap Ka Suroor.

Brief Story : AAP KAA SURROOR begins with a dead body of a TV journo, Nadia Merchant, being found in a remote area, somewhere in Germany. Soon after, HR is arrested after a concert for murdering the television journalist. HR is put behind bars and the incidents begin to unravel as the movie goes into a flashback.

While on a concert in Germany, HR meets the event organizer [Darshan Jariwala] and his partner [Mallika Sherawat]. He also meets the event planner [Hansika Motwani] and its love at first sight. Love blossoms. After initial reservations, Hansika's father [Sachin Khedekar] approves of the match.

Things take a turn when HR is arrested. He asks Mallika, also a lawyer, to bail him out. But hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Mallika is in love with HR, but the rockstar loves Hansika. He escapes from his prison cell after taking the murdered TV journalist's father [Raj Babbar] as captive. He has to find the actual murderer in one single day, or else his sweetheart will be married off to someone else.
